Congratulations to Lucinda Simpson from Ascot Vale Special School on winning the Youth Category at this year's Shine On Awards.
 
  We nominated Lucy on the recommendation of her teachers and Principal and she was chose for her contributions and dedication.
  Unfortunately, the awards celebration was cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions but we hope to welcome Lucy to one of our meetings later this year.

Lucy has worked hard at the Ascot Vale Special School to complete Certificates in Horticulture, Kitchen Operations and Food Processing.  Lucy has been accepted into a traineeship at the Crown St. Stables Café and Work Education at Victoria University. Lucy is a ‘Student Active Voice’ representative taking students’ ideas and requests to Leadership. She has also completed an “Emerging Young Leaders” program. Lucy attends School Council meetings and has attended meetings of the Moonee Valley City Council. In addition, Lucy has taken on the role of infant supervisor in the playground for new young students.
