It is based on research which shows that children need exposure to at least 1,000 stories, nursery rhymes and books before starting school to develop the necessary vocabulary and understanding of language and literature.

We at the Rotary Club of Flemington Kensington strongly support this project, and with members having significant experience in the field of education, and also with children from the local community from language backgrounds other than English believe this project is of benefit to all.
We supply picture story books to children through the Maternal and Child Health nurses.
We also provide junior fiction and picture story books for the children at Debney Meadows Primary School, and suitable fiction and non fiction to Kensington Community High School.
